Parents and Students:
I hope this finds you well. There have been some nasty flu bugs going around. With the holidays coming up, we all want to stay as healthy as possible.
Just a few things:
1. The office will be closed Nov 11th for Veterans' Day. It is a Friday, so it won't affect tutoring. I will respond to email in the morning, but I am going to take the rest of the day off.
2. We will be closed for the entire week of Thanksgiving, Nov. 21-25. Get cozy and curl up with a good book at a hot cocoa. Enjoy time with family and friends. Now, more than ever, it is good to be grateful for what we have and who we have in our lives.
3. We will be open Monday, Oct 31 for Halloween. Students are welcome to wear their costumes to tutoring, especially if they are going to a party or trick-or-treating afterward. We ask that during tutoring students set aside their masks, gloves, false teeth, or anything else that may get in the way of their learning.
4. Seniors: it is go time. UC and CSU applications are due Nov 30th. Check the Common App or college websites for other application deadlines. Tighten up those essays, recheck your grades and activities, and take a deep breath. Submit them and return your attention to your classes. These grades matter!
I feel incredibly blessed to have all of you in my life. Thank you for sharing your successes and your trials. Thank you for showing up, even when it is hard. Thank you for giving your best every day. I am grateful for you.
Christie
