August 2022 Invoices & Announcements

Parents and Students:

The cooler weather caught us by surprise, but it has been a welcome change nevertheless. I hope you have been relaxing and soaking up a couple of lazy hours. We need to build our strength. Brace for it: school starts in two weeks. Yikes!

Thank you to everyone who has already signed up for the fall session. Each year has its own idiosyncrasies, and this year is no different. We are still working to place a few students, and some are waiting to see about off periods. The schedule is live, but it will change as we add students. Please contact us to set up a recurring schedule for you.

We switch over to the fall schedule Monday, August 15th.

1. Please take a moment to update your information in Teachworks. Have you changed your address, phone number, or school? Make sure to update your ICE (in case of emergency) contact with the best number to reach that person. We appreciate your help.

2. Our parking lot gets extremely busy. Please be mindful of young children coming in and out of the office as well as patients from the chiropractic office next door. We are staggering start times to help the flow of cars through the lot. We ask students who drive themselves to the office to park on Kent St or around the corner on Lakeville. If your student rides a bike to the center, park it on the side of the building close to Christie's office. Thank you everyone for being safe and considerate.

3. If you are taking an online class with Apex, Silicon Valley HS, or BYU, please check that you will complete the class before school starts. If you need an exam proctored, let us know as soon as you can.

Every new school year is an opportunity for growth. I hope this year will be a time of healing, strength, and resilience. I believe in you.

Announcing Fall 2022 Signups!

Parents and Students: The summer is flying by. It is hard to believe it, but school starts in a month. We knew it was going to be a short summer, but this is super fast. I hope you are getting some quality downtime and can really recharge. We are going to start fall sign-ups Tues, July 26th at 11:00 AM. For those of you who have been through this before, go ahead and skip down to the tutor availability. For everyone else: please read this carefully and contact me if you have any questions. To make sign-ups fair for everyone, we do not give priority to any group. We will start scheduling people on the 26th at 11:00 (no early birds). It is a first come, first served system. Email cjlcinfo@gmail.com with your student's name in the subject line with your top three preferences for tutor, day, and time. Note whether you want a private, shared, or online session. If you will be out of town on the 26th, draft your email and schedule it to send at 11:00 AM. *Remember, I am reading these very quickly, so please be as clear as you can. If you want Phil as the tutor, but you don't care what day or time, say it. I want to make this as easy as possible for everyone. I will respond to your email with a confirmation for the tutor, day, and time. I will keep a master schedule for a few days, then we will load it into Teachworks at the end of the week.

We have some great new tutors at the center. Dave will be working with junior high and high school math students. Gen and Audrey are working with elementary students and reading/writing students. Beth will continue working with our homeschool students. If you have any questions or want to talk with me about the best personality match for your student, please contact me before the 26th because that day will be very busy. I hope that this school year will be productive and positive for everyone. In the meantime, soak up as much fun and relaxation as you can. School will start in just a few weeks!
